  • КРАТКА АВТОБИОГРАФИЯ

Д-р Димов, Димо Тодоров е роден на 31 август 1949 г. в Русенска област.

Получава инженерно образование, по специалността "Автоматика и телемеханика" в Техническия университет на София, през 1973 г. Продължава със специализацията "инженер-математик" през 1974 г., а през 1979 г., пак там, защитава докторска дисертация по информатика.

От 1979 до 1982 г. е научен сътрудник в ЦИИТТ, София. От 1982 г. работи в БАН в областта на: компютърната графика и бази данни (1982-1989), информатика и екологично инженерство (1989-1993), обработка на изображения и разпознаване на образи (1994-…). През 1991 г. е избран за ст.н.с. ІІст. по информатика; същата позиция има в момента в ИИКТ на БАН, където е и ръководител на секция "Обработка на сигнали и разпознаване на образи".

Практиката му в системата на ВУЗ датира от 1995 г. с редовен курс лекции по разпознаване на текст и графика, есенните семестри в Новия български университет, а пролетните - във ФМИ на Софийския университет.

Член е на Българската асоциация по разпознаване на образи, на Съюза на учените в България и на Съюза по автоматика и информатика.

Представител е на българската страна в международната организация SETREF, Гърция, от създаването й през 1997г. От 2004г. е научен секретар на ежегодната международна конференция CompSysTech.

Над 100 научни публикации на английски, руски и български, както и над 20 проекта характеризират неговите научни и научно-приложни активности до момента.
