Cyber-Physical Systems
Expertise of the Department Cyber-Physical Systems of Institute of Information and Communication Technologies-Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is research and development of innovative intelligent ICT for control of mobile robots and embedded systems and educational robotics. The methods of tele-control of cyber-physical systems, by voice, gestures and user interface are being studied. The department is also conducting research in the Environmental Modeling, Fire Behavior Modeling and Web-GIS decision support tools development.
Currently Department Cyber-Physical Systems of IICT-BAS is a project coordinator of EC project №-2020-1-BG01-KA202-079200, "Network of IcT Robo Clubs" ERASMUS +, Key action 2, Vocational education and training http://nitroclubs.eu and BNSF project № KP-06-M27/1, "Research and development of innovative, intelligent information and communication technologies for control of service robots"
Resently the Department has become a member of the DIH² Network (Digital Inovation Hub for Agile Robotics)
Head of Department: Assoc. Prof. Nayden Chivarov, Ph.D.
He received a PhD degree from the Institute of Handling Device and Robotics, TU Vienna, Austria. Currently he is also a head of RILab i2030 from the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies - BAS. His research interests are: service robots, mechatronics, human-robot interaction, Industry 4.0, IoT.
Assoc. prof. Chivarov is PhD students supervisor and lecturer on Service and Educational Robotics, currently is a project coordinator of the project N: 2020-1-BG01-KA202-079200, Network of IcT Robo Clubs, ERASMUS +, Key action 2, Vocational education and training, and Member of the management committee of COST Action CA16116 - Wearable Robots for Augmentation, Assistance or Substitution of Human Motor Functions.
